Annealed glass explained

Annealed Glass is simply another name for regular glass (or flat or float glass). Annealed Glass has not undergone any special processes to temper or strengthen the glass through heat treatments. Instead, annealed float glass has undergone a cooling process in a controlled manner to eliminate stress points during the manufacturing process. Annealed glass should not be mistaken for safety glass as it can still fracture or splinter when broken.
